Dr. Gururaj Karajagi is the Director of Academy of Creative Teaching, Bangluru. He is a doctoral degree holder in Chemistry from Karnataka University, has published over 22 research papers in International journals. He has served as a member of several prestigious Educational and Governmental committees. He is a life Fellow of the Electrochemical Society of India. He is on the boards of Management of a few Medical Universities. Dr. Karajagi also served as a member of the State Resource Group (SRG) for the implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) in the colleges of Karnataka. Dr. Karajagi is a well-known columnist who writes for a popular daily and has completed more than 1500 columns. His books entitled “Karunaalu Baa Belake” (Volumes 1 to 10) are immensely popular and have seen several editions. Through the Academy for Creative Teaching, Dr. Karajagi is instrumental in building over 86 schools of very high quality all over the world. He is also a member of the Karnataka Jnana Aayoga.
He spoke to the teachers of NMC and various CBSE schools about the Challenges which a 21st Century Teachers has. He said teachers must update themselves regularly and enhance their teaching skills and subject knowledge. In order to reduce the gap between the theory and its application in the classroom, he proposed a simple yet comprehensive teaching model. This model also enhances the understanding of the learning directed at the brain through the heart. It is a concise amalgamation of the various learning theories without the jargons and the technicalities. He asked teachers to practice Creative Teaching. He also said in his talk If the teaching is to be understood by all the students, then, the teaching will have to reach out to all the learning styles.
The program was attended by thousand teachers from various schools in Nagpur.
